Assessments
Full Assessment
We have several types of assessment, one is a full assessment,
which profiles the employee´s ability levels and assesses their
strengths and weaknesses in relation to the specific demands of
their job, resulting in tailored recommendations. This assessment
is designed to identify the particular disability where a previous
assessment has not been undertaken.
Work Based Assessment
Another type of assessment is a work based assessment, which is
designed to assist in identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses
relating directly to the particular demands of a specific job.
The assessment is written in plain English and allows the employer
and employee to understand the implications of that person’s
disability within the context of the specific job, allowing both
parties to have realistic expectations about the level and standards
that can be realistically achieved and how best to achieve them.
Both assessments are concluded with a realistic action plan detailing
how the employer can best make ‘reasonable adjustment’
(as required by the Disability Discrimination Act) thus allowing
the employee to reach their potential and ultimately benefiting the
employer.
The above assessments are conducted by an Occupational Psychologist
who has a unique combination of skills as a specialist in hidden
disabilities in employment, specialist IT solutions, disability
mentoring and policy advice. The emphasis in all assessments
is to provide a professional opinion, bringing mutual clarity
of the issues involved and realistic solutions that work.
Vocational Guidance
This service is to help clients in or seeking work to consider
their employment options, this is to identify their strengths
and weaknesses and help them build this into a realistic work
goal that capitalises on their abilities and helps to identify
areas that can be compensated for through specialist technology
or training. This type of assessment is used where it may be
a better option to redeploy an employee into a better suited post.
Functional Assessment
This type of assessment is used to identify the client's actual
ability level and degree of difficulty relating to their disability
and looks at their suitability to undertake the tasks required in
a particular job.
Complex Assessment
Complex assessment is used to address issues where a client has
more than one disability that affects their ability in the workplace.
A complex assessment is also appropriate where there are many factors
to consider, such as personal circumstances etc.
IT Assessment
IT assessment is used to asses what a persons’ technical needs
are in the work place to bridge the gap between their difficulties
and their job, a specialist IT assessor visits the work place
and recommends a combination of equipment and specialist IT training.
All assessments are carried out at the employee’s place of work,
to request an assessment, please contact us by telephone,
initially outlining your particular needs. You will then receive
a quote and if you wish to proceed you will be asked to put your
request in writing (fax is acceptable) with the employee’s details,
place of work and any supporting information that should be considered.
